Leaks: NTT DoCoMo Summer 2011 Line up

Gingerbread, minna-san?

Dear mobile tech enthusiasts out there, don't you just love leaks and rumours? I do. And this time, the juice comes from the land of the rising sun. NTT DoCoMo, Japan's leading mobile operator, is preparing their summer 2011 line up. And this time it's all about droids.

Most of the phones will come in Android 2.3, high-res display and camera, slim design, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, A-GPS and CPUs ticking at 1GHz or higher. Please keep in mind that this leak is not official (just like other leaks) and the line up showed here might not be complete and most of the phones will not head out of Japan. Let's start.

SO-02C XPERIA acro by Sony Ericsson

SO-02C  XPERIA acro is pretty similar to XPERIA arc SO-01C; Android 2.3, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 512MB RAM and 1GB ROM, 4.2" 480 × 854 FWVGA Reality Display with BRAVIA Engine and 8.1MP camera with Exmor R are all on board. The main difference is the presence of FeliCa (used for mobile payment in Japan) and 1Seg (mobile TV streaming service in, okay, Japan). The dimension is 127 × 62 × 11.5mm and it weighs 134g. Well, that's a bit fat compared to XPERIA arc's 8.7mm waistline. XPERIA acro will come in white, aqua, and black.

F-12C by Fujitsu

This  Fujitsu droid will come with 3.7" 800x480 WVGA display. The Android 2.3 itself is customized with a user interface called NX!Comfort UI. The main camera resolution  is 8.1MP while a VGA camera is also available in the front for video call. The F-12C is IPX5/8-certified, which means it's a waterproof device. FeliCa, WiFi 802.11b/g n and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR are on board. The dimension itself is 119 × 60 × 9.9mm, 110g.

SC-02C Galaxy S2 by Samsung

The specs are similar to the global versionSC-02C uses  the same dual-core Orion Exynos 4210 chipset, ticking at 1.2GHz. TouchWiz 4.0 is also present. 1seg might be supported by this droid.

P-07C by Panasonic

Panasonic designed it for women. The specs is nothing groundbreaking compared to rest; 4.3" 854 × 480 FWVGA TFT LCD, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. The design itself will be the main sales point, anyway.

N-06C MEDIAS WP by NEC Casio Mobile

This is the successor to MEDIAS N-04C. N-06C MEDIAS WP is a wateproof (IPX5/7-certified) droid packed in 128 × 64 × 7.9mm body. You heard me, that impressively slim 7.9mm waistline! It also has 5.1MP autofocus camera--with image stabilization and face detection--, 1seg and FeliCa support. The available colors: champagne gold, premium rose and amadana brown. By the way, NEC Casio Mobile is a merger of 3 technology companies; NEC, Casio Computer and Hitachi.

L-07C Optimus Bright by LG

This one is the exact copy of LG Optimus Black.  The Android 2.3 will get Optimus UI 2.0 customization on top. With a 1 GHz CPU and a spanking new NOVA display, Optimus Bright is ready to try its fortune this summer in Japan. The back panel is more cheerful this time; black, pink, emerald green.

SH-12C AQUOS PHONE by SHARP

Say hi to SH-12C, (probably) the hottest of the bunch. This AQUOS-branded phone will sport 4.2" MobileASV LCD display at resolution of 960 × 540 (yes, qHD).  It doesn't stop there, the display is a glass-free 3D unit.  It comes with 8MP twin camera, capable of shooting 3D video. A VGA camera is available in the front. The dimension is pretty compact, i.e. 127 × 64 × 11.9mm and it weighs 135g.

Okay guys, that's all for dinner. Now brush your teeth, wash your feet, go to bed and dream about Japan. I think that's what I'm going to do right after I hit the "publish" button. お休みなさい!
